Water-Moon Monastery

Location: Guandu Plain, Taipei

Site Characteristics Subsurface profile consists of approximately 40 m of very soft to soft, highly compressible silty clay.

Project Scale 1–2-story structures. No basement or a shallow single basement level (GL.-2.4 to -5.85 m).

Geotechnical Features Adopted a compensated foundation design using mat and raft foundations, replacing the originally proposed 50 m deep foundations. Foundation layout and structural configuration were refined in coordination with architectural planning. Settlement and performance evaluation conducted through iterative soil–structure interaction analyses.
