Site Characteristics Gravel–cobble formation

Project Scale Excavation and construction of a drainage box culvert beneath the existing river channel while maintaining uninterrupted water conveyance.

Geotechnical Features The project required excavation directly beneath a flowing river channel of nearly equivalent width, demanding strict control of stability and groundwater conditions. In the section crossing the historic Zhongshan Green Bridge, excavation was conducted adjacent to the bridge abutment foundation. This required precise displacement control and protective design measures to ensure the safety and integrity of the heritage bridge.
