Keelung Port Pier W31/W32 Rail Foundation Settlement Remediation

Location : Keelung Port, Keelung City

Site Characteristics Remediation works addressing foundation settlement of the RT Zone 3 track system located behind Wharves W31 and W32 at Keelung Port.

Project Scale Comprehensive inspection and evaluation of the entire area, followed by development of improvement measures. Works include ground consolidation beneath the tracks, as well as elevation adjustment and stabilization of track levels.

Geotechnical Features To address settlement of the coastal-side track foundation in RT Zone 3, a dual-ring pressure grouting method was implemented to improve the subgrade beneath the track slab, consolidating the underlying soil layers. After strengthening the ground beneath the track foundation, F.J.G. (Fine Jet Grouting) lifting grouting was performed to reduce differential settlement and raise the track system to the target elevation.
